We made our way to our first pumpkin patch of the season- forever one of my favorite family traditions of the year! We had some unseasonably cold weather roll in this weekend, mid-30’s with snow in the forecast, but we were still determined to get out there and kick off the fall fun! We went late in the day hoping to catch the peak heat, but by the time we got in the car everyone’s cheeks were rosy and noses were drippy from the cold.
There are a few small nurseries in our area that sell pumpkins and hay bales. They are nothing special, but they are usually quiet and we don’t have to drive very far. Our favorite one in town has the cutest vintage Radio Flyer wagons to tote all your goodies (and cranky toddlers) around in. Conrad was in heaven and ran around the whole time saying “punkees” while Quinn so sweetly tried to show him the ones he could carry. We managed to snap a few pics and pick the prettiest white pumpkin before Conrad shot-putted a pumpkin across the patch and it was time to go.
After the pumpkin patch we ran home to watch the Broncos game and made a pot of chili. A super relaxing Sunday and much needed after the crazy week we had! Next year I’d really like to take a drive to one of the farms that offers hay rides and apple cider donuts (yum!).
