Thanksgiving was extra special this year. Our first time hosting looked a bit like a scene straight out of Christmas Vacation, but I loved every minute of having it in our own home! We sipped mimosas in the morning and watched the parade while we started dinner prep. It literally took us all day to cook, but the weather was perfectly chilly, our house was full of family (and way too much food!). It felt like magic being made and we have so much to be thankful for!
After a late night of pie and snuggling up on the couch to our favorite movie, Thanksgiving gave way to the Christmas season. We skipped the early morning chaos of Black Friday and made breakfast at home. My sweet in-laws watched Quinny so Ryne and I could sneak away for a little lunch date and Christmas shopping.
Speaking of Christmas shopping, I can hardly believe that Christmas is only three weeks away! I put together a little toddler gift guide and I am so excited to share some of the things that will be under the tree for Quinn this year.
I love picking out a book or two, a pair of pj’s, a new puzzle and some art supplies each year for Quinny. At the top of her “want” list is a doctor play set, and she reminds me at least a million times a day that she will be asking Santa for it. My mom is getting her a push bike (I am in love with this powder blue one!) And Ryne and I will be gifting her play kitchen under the tree as the big gift from mom and dad. We have big plans to give it a coat of paint and some new hardware to spruce it up, and deck it out with all the kitchen essentials. She is going to love it!
I can hardly handle the excitement I feel for the holidays this year! Being in our own house and watching Quinn run down the stairs on Christmas morning will certainly make this our most fun Christmas yet 🙂
