We are home from our spring break trip to Maui just in time for a Colorado snow storm this morning. I feared that traveling as a family of four would be an absolute circus. And even though the travel days were long (the flight was about seven and a half hours and we had to make a connection in Honolulu), traveling with two kids wasn’t too bad! Conrad only fussed a handful of times. Buuut… I did manage to spill an entire bag of Doritos on an elderly couple who offered to switch seats with us. Could have been worse. Quinn did amazing, per usual, and was just so excited to get there!
Conrad woke us up at 5:30 the first few mornings, but made it up to us by sleeping eight hours straight our last night there! Each day we did our usual routine of coffee on the lanai followed by a walk down to the beach, sun-blocking up the kids and hitting to pool, then heading back to the room to shower before dinner. The trip was originally planned as a spring break trip for my little sister. When my parents offered for us to tag along, we jumped on the opportunity! I am so thankful to my mom who watched the kids several nights so that Ryne and I could get out for some alone time. We went out for dinner, had pizza and beer on the beach, and whispered sweet nothings into each others ears over mai tais at a local bar. The kind of recharge every couple needs after having a baby 🙂
I already miss our long days of splashing in the pool and putting a tired Quinn to bed with sunblock in her hair, but I am super looking forward to some spring weather here and sleeping in my own bed!
