Quinn’s First Birthday!

I can hardly believe it has been a whole year since we welcomed our baby girl into the world. Happy 1st Birthday, Quinny! Every day with you is an absolute joy. You are the sweetest, goofiest and most playful little girl. Watching you grow is a magnificent adventure. Your daddy and I adore you.

We are so grateful to our friends and family who came to celebrate our little kiddo this weekend. Quinn had more people at her first birthday than we had at our wedding! The weather held out, the cake was delicious, and the gazebo we rented wasn’t double booked. I’d call that a win!

I saw lots of birthday chalkboards like this on Pinterest and knew right away that I wanted to make one for Quinn. She loves to smear mommy’s chalkboards so I used a Chalk Ink pen to write this chalkboard. Chalk ink doesn’t smear when it’s dry and easily wipes away with water. Naturally, I procrastinated this project until the morning of. I didn’t even notice that I misspelled avocados until after the party. Oops!

We printed 50 of our favorite pics from Q’s first year using a fabulous local printing company and strung them up around the gazebo for our guests to view. They were perfect for the party and in an age of digital everything I am excited to finally have some tangible prints.

I was so in love with this gorgeous ombre cake. Everything happened so fast that I forgot to get a shot of the inside, but it was just as beautiful and ombre as the outside! When it finally came time to light the candles and smash the cake, Quinn couldn’t understand why she had such an audience. She was much more interested in the fire than the cake, so Ryne had to hold her little arms down while we helped her make a wish 🙂

This is the extent of the smash cake pictures. Just like her daddy, Quinn is not a big fan of cake. Lucky for me, that means mommy gets to eat cake for breakfast.

Quinny had an absolute blast playing with everyone outside! Between the balloons, the baby swings, and a large ball she received as a gift, our girl had such a fun day.Cotton Candy // Tassel Garland (similar here) // Cake Topper // One T-shirt // Seersucker Shorts // Chalkboard

I am so looking forward to new adventures with our girl in year two (and to being in our new house for her second birthday)!
