Ryne and I just got back from a gloriously relaxing babymoon. We are well aware that once this baby arrives, it will be a while until we are able to travel again just the two of us. We’re talking a year or more, which made a babymoon top priority for us. Most people go on their babymoon closer to when their baby is due, but that timing just wasn’t going to work for us this time. I won’t be allowed to travel after about the first of the year, November and December were out of the question because of the holidays (and the fact that it’s freezing cold anywhere we’d want to go for a long weekend), and Ryne will be on the road for work most of October. So end of September it was.
It turns out 19.5 weeks is kind of the perfect time to travel. I’m not nauseous anymore, which means I was able to indulge in all of my most beloved, tried and true New York restaurants. I’m not so big that I’m uncomfortable. It was perfect. Besides the fact that it rained the entirety of our first full day, the weather was beautiful- cool and crisp. We meandered through all our favorite parts of the city, tried several new restaurants, and Ryne spoiled me with surprise tickets for La Boheme at the Metropolitan Opera. We loved every minute of it.
