The cold has overstayed its welcome in CO this year, so we packed our bags and exchanged our fur-lined hats and winter boots for umbrella drinks, soft, sandy beaches, and quality time with the person we love most!
In the winter, there is a three-hour time difference between Colorado and Maui, which means we got a 4am wake-up call from Quinn on our first morning. Pro tip for traveling with a toddler: don’t even count how many cups of coffee you have. We made productive use of our three hours until sunrise by looking for crabs on the beach and eating sand.
Quinny has turned into such a little fish since we were here last! She had so much fun swimming and playing in the sane! Every morning she begged us to take her to the ocean by saying “Ocean! Oceannn!” over and over. Watching take her shovel in one hand and her pale in the other and waddles her little swim-diaper-bottom down the path to the sand really is the cutest thing ever! She loves to build sandcastles and “frow sand at mama”. Who doesn’t?
But what this cutie lacks in beach-side manners she makes up for with the sweetest little baby kisses! The waves haven’t been exactly baby friendly this past week, so we have been coaxing our little one into the pool instead. Even though the ocean is her clear favorite, she still loved the pool. Watching the joy on her face makes me so excited to hit the pool in our new neighborhood with her this summer! Already hoping for an early spring.
