A whole week has passed and we are still nursing the last of our candy. Halloween was such fun this year! Quinn was so excited, she dressed up in her costume for weeks ahead of time and she is at the best age to revel in all the fun of trick-or-treating.
Ryne made it home just in time for the holiday. Us girls were thrilled to have him home after a wild weekend of trying to get him on a flight back to the states from Barcelona. Ryne and I both stayed home from work on Monday to enjoy the festive fun with our girl. On Halloween, we all slept in (which is so rare!) and then made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. After decorating our front porch we whipped up our traditional Halloween stew, which simmered all day and made our house smell SO GOOD! In the afternoon we carved pumpkins and took stock of our candy to ensure we had enough to supply trick-or-treaters and pregnant women alike 😉
Quinn asked all day long if it was time to go trick-or-treating. We picked up her Halloween costume months ago and the wait was killing her. She carried around two pumpkin buckets all day and when it was finally time to head out to trick-or-treat, she desperately wanted to bring a bucket full of stuffed animal friends. Trying to explain to her why that was a bad idea ended in tears, but all was well with the world again when she realized she’d be filling it with candy instead 😉
What a fun night! I can’t wait to have another little person to celebrate with next Halloween. Now on to THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
