Our handsome boy has been home for a little over a month and it’s amazing how it already feels like he’s been part of the family for forever. He is still such a great little eater and gaining weight quickly. As of this morning, he weighed 11lbs! That is more than 4lbs over his birth weight! His cheeks are coming in nicely and the back of his neck has developed the sweetest little fat roll.
At one-month-old, George is sleeping in the bassinet next to our bed, still waking every 2-4 hours to eat. While we were in San Diego (seemingly overnight) all of the hair on top of his head fell out, leaving him looking like the cutest old man.
Although he is too young to have a schedule, our average day looks something like this-
- Wake for the day between 8:30 am and 9:30 am. He eats, we change his diaper, and hang out for about 45 minutes (with a cup of coffee) before he’s ready for his next nap.
- Nap in the Solly Wrap or car seat (if mom and dad are on the go) for 2-3 hours. Wake, eat, change again. Repeat this consistently throughout the day.
- Around 8 pm, he eats and then we rock in the glider for an hour or two before calling it a night between 9 and 10.
- Sleep for about 4 hours. Usually wake around 2 am to feed again. Sometimes he’s awake for an hour before falling back asleep.
- Then wake every 1-2 hours to eat between 4am and 9am. Usually end up snuggling Mom in bed because Mom is too tired to get up that often.
