Conrad is growing up so stinking fast and watching his personality develop is easily the sweetest thing ever. He is playful and sweet. He is strong-willed and also a surprisingly good listener. And he is the biggest love! Every time Quinn cries he will run over and hug her. Sometimes he crawls up on my lap just to give me a kiss. He has the most beautiful brown eyes and still has that baby smell that is so sweet.
Age: 17 months
Stats: Height: 31.5 inches (45th percentile). Weight: 23 lbs (45th percentile).
Clothes: 12-18 months
Words: Everything is “bah”. Ball = “bah”. Book = “bah”. Milk = “bah”. Ok, he can sign that one. He says mama, dada, and “Di”, which means sissy. He has a puppy he takes everywhere with him who he calls “Bup bup”. This kid can hear a box of donuts open from the other side of the house and will always come running, shouting “snahhh” (snack). Food is his love language and he’s definitely my spirit animal.
Favorite foods: Conrad pretty much refuses to eat anything he can’t hold himself. Basically, he needs a bath after every meal. He always prefers to drink from Quinn’s cup even if she is drinking out of the cup that was originally his. So if you have any tips to get baby to eat, send them my way (along with wine and a box of powdered sugar donuts). He does, however, like blueberries. Which he also calls “bah”.
Favorite activities: Just like Quinn at this age, Conrad loves to play outside. He is obsessed with balls of all sizes and loves to throw them around our backyard. He will play independently in the play tent for a full, uninterrupted 30 minutes. Heaven. But more than anything, he loves to play with big sissy. Those two are absolutely smitten with each other. Conrad watches Quinn’s every mood and lights up every time he sees her. Quinn loves that Conrad is now less fragile and thinks that her duties as big sister are the best.
