Age: 8 months
Stats: Weighs a whopping 22lbs and wearing size 12-18 months
New this month: Crawling! George is officially mobile and pulling himself to standing on absolutely everything. Loves to play peek-a-boo, read books, and eat! Favorite toys include his play table, anything he can choke on, and the fake grass surrounding our faux tree in the entry 😉
Language: Mama, Dada, nigh-nigh, and signing the words “milk” and “all done”. He has also started to make a “cuh” sound and “buh” sound that make me think he may start to try to say his siblings names.
Sleep: Going down for the night around 9pm and waking for the day around 6am. Summers are so hard on baby sleep. Even with blackout shades, he really wants to be awake when the sun is up. He’s made it to the point of occasionally sleeping through the night, but I’d say more often than not, he’s up at least once in the night. He is a stomach sleeper and when he pushes himself to sitting, he can’t quite figure out how to lay himself back down.
Naps: Napping for 3.5 hours total in a day. He goes down for his first nap around 9:30am and I can typically count on it being a nice long one, which is the time I catch up on my to-do’s. The second nap usually happens around 4pm and is shorter.
Eating: George is LOVING food! He will eat just about anything we’re eating. This month, he decided yogurt is totally tolerable. He loves meat, string cheese, strawberries, and avocado and he thinks drinking water is so fun.
Nicknames: Boo boo, Moo, Georgie, Pig and Piggy.
Favorite baby items for an 8-month-old:
- This paci clip. We lost our original paci clip in the Frankfurt airport this spring while running to catch our flight back the states. I bought this one as a replacement and love the soft, neutral colors it comes in.
- This sound machine has been a game changer for us. We use it to signal it’s time for sleep whether we’re laying him down at home, or on the go.
- Recently bought these pajamas from Target. They are the softest pajamas on the planet and very affordable.
- George is finally big enough to use our new stroller and we are absolutely LOVING IT!
