Monday morning after a holiday weekend is always hard. Feeling extra thankful for leftover Easter candy that tastes especially good with my coffee!
We had a jam-packed weekend. Friday night was date night for Ryne and I. We drove an hour out of town and shared laughs over wine-paired morsels. So fun and always needed! Saturday we dyed eggs and hunkered down for nap time before booking it to church. Always a challenge with two kids, one of whom gets serious anxiety going to Sunday School and the other who’d like to crawl straight back into my uterus. Saturday evening we had dinner at my mom’s and then headed home early to get the kids in bed by 7:30. Parenting win.
The kids woke up bright and early on Sunday morning SO excited to see if the Easter Bunny had come. Quinn waited so patiently for Conrad to drink his bottle before grabbing her basket to hunt eggs. She thoughtfully left all the low eggs for him and even helped him find a few. Conrad surprised us by jumping into the egg hunt like he’d been doing it for years. He’d find an egg, crack it open, eat the treats and abandon it on the floor to go in search of the next egg. The kids opened their baskets while we made pancakes and everyone was in a sugar coma by noon.
Conrad napped and Quinn played with her new toys for a while before we had to get ready to go see my dad’s side of the family for another dinner, more baskets, and more chocolate bunnies. Every year gets more fun as the kids get older. So thankful for these two kiddos and for our Risen Savior who has forever changed everything. Happy Easter!
