We kicked off our fun, old-fashioned family Christmas this weekend with an hour-long drive in the mountains to a Boulder-based Christmas tree farm to take our annual Christmas card photos. Sure, taking two kids meant a short nap for Conrad, lots of snacks, and sticky faces and hands from way too many candy canes… but we had SO much fun! Our actual photo shoot was only half an hour because we had more important things to do, like sneak a peek at Santa through the trees and pick out our first real tree! The kids were mesmerized by the tall trees and the lights (not to mention the endless supply of candy canes & hot cocoa). We loaded a beautiful 6′ tree into the back of the car and went home smelling like peppermint & pine. Pure Christmas magic!
