What a month! We have been in the trenches since before Thanksgiving with sick kiddos, one bout of croup, and a very sick pregnant mama. It has been a few weeks of lots of couch snuggles and tears all around, but I’m happy to report that everyone is finally on the mend. I’ve never felt so grateful for my health and we are all SO ready to make the most of what’s left of this festive season. I’m praying we can all stay healthy between now and when the baby is born. Only four months to go!
How far along: 22 weeks
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 9 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I officially gave up on trying to find maternity jeans. Living in leggings, oversized sweatshirts, and all things comfy.
Stretch marks: No new ones
Belly button in or out: Flat.
Sleep: Sleep is still good. I’m so tired by the end of the day I practically fall asleep as I’m climbing into bed. Then I sleep like a rock until Quinn wanders in asking for chocolate milk or Conrad starts calling “mama/dada” from his crib.
Best moment this week: Doing all the Christmas things as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birthday in a few days. Last weekend Ryne surprised me with a trip to New York (surprised is an understatement. I was SHOCKED.) to celebrate our 9th engagement anniversary. We walked slowly through the park where we got engaged, had afternoon tea at Bergdorff Goodman, and had dessert & coffee delivered to our room every night so we could snuggle up with a Christmas movie in bed. Best. Babymoon. EVER!
Worst moment this week: Bleaching the house from top to bottom in an effort not to catch the norovirus Quinn brought home from her kindergarten Christmas party. But it must have done the trick because no one else caught it!
Cravings: Gingerbread cookies & milk.
Miss anything: A holiday cocktail. Definitely looking forward to an adult beverage in my moose mug next year.
Movement: Lots of movement! Third pregnancy and I still love every little kick. Baby girl is super active on my right side. Quinn loves to feel her move. Conrad asks to see the baby every night, which really means he wants me to lift my shirt so he can see my bare stomach, and then he lays his whole body across my belly to snuggle the baby. It’s the sweetest!
Queasy or sick: Recovering from pneumonia and two cracked ribs. It’s been a month. But finally feeling better!
Looking forward to: Getting moving on baby girl’s nursery after the New Year!! We’ll be shifting Conrad to the guest room across the hall, which means we’ll really be prepping two rooms and I can’t wait to see it all come together!
