Every May we get a small glimpse at the joy that fall will bring when we plant our pumpkin plants in the garden! We are a little late getting them into the ground this year because Colorado has had an unseasonably cold spring (crossing my fingers they still produce carve-able pumpkins!). I normally have to buy all the plants from a local nursery, but this year we only had to buy our little spookies because we managed to grow our jack-o-lanterns from seeds! Planting these with the kiddos has become one of my favorite spring traditions and makes me oh so excited for all the fall festivities! Definitely already dreaming about pumpkin spice at the Hammons Manor 🙂
Quinn got the pumpkin seeds as a gift from my mom for Easter along with a bag of gardening tools. Such a thoughtful gift! She carefully watered the seeds every day and was so excited when they finally sprouted (the watermelon seeds we planted were not so lucky). She helped me prep the garden while Conrad drove his cars through the dirt. The best part? The kids went straight into the sprinklers afterwards to rinse off!
