Age: 7 months
Stats: Weighing a little over 20lbs and fitting perfectly in 12 month sizes
New this month: So many changes this month! George is pushing himself to sitting, rocking back and forth on his hands and knees, and even pulling himself up onto his knees using his toy bin. We need to move down his crib ASAP.
Language: George has been signing milk for a little over a month now, but he finally said his first word- MAMA! Quickly followed by Yaya, which definitely meant Dada. He may also be saying Nigh-nigh. So exciting!
Sleep: Still not sleeping through the night, but I blame too much travel. At the moment, he goes down for the night around 9pm in his crib. Sometime between midnight and 6am he wakes up crying and ends up in our bed until waking for the day just before 8am. It really isn’t the worst and I’ve grown accustomed to co-sleeping. So nursing him while I sleep isn’t disruptive to me anymore.
Naps: George is taking two naps now. One of them is usually a little over an hour and the second one is usually a little over two. A typical day in the life of our 7-month-old baby looks something like this:
- 7:45am- Wake for the day. Nurse, poop, snack on some Cheerios, and play.
- 11am- Nap #1.
- 12:30pm- Wake. Nurse, lunch, poop, and play.
- 4pm- Nap #2.
- 5:30pm- Wake. Dinner & walk with the fam then play until bedtime.
- 9pm- Nurse and snuggle with mom and off to Dreamland.
Eating: George tried so many new foods this month! He is a big fan of Eggs, avocados, bananas, and any kind of meat. Not a big fan of yogurt or mushy baby food. We tried an apple, banana, and blueberry combo and several flavors of yogurt. He did seem to enjoy the yogurt a little better when I put peanut butter in it. He’s had a few bites of breaded items like pancakes and bits of Ivy’s PB&J, which he enjoyed. He also took water for the first time, which was very exciting for him! Mostly he loves to squish everything in his hands and throw it on the floor.
