Over the years, I’ve found that age five feels like such a big milestone in the transition from toddler to kid. Ivy is on the taller side, so she’s been wearing 5T for a while now and even fits in some 6T things. That means she and Quinn now shop in the same section! Que matching outfits again!
After a very busy spring, we opted for a low-key birthday for Ivy. We started the day with cinnamon rolls (complete with sprinkles and a candle) and opening presents. After we dropped the two big kids off at school, the four of us grabbed donuts and sat at Starbucks (at Ivy’s request). When George went down for his nap, Ivy and I snuck out for a mani/pedi. We went to dinner just the six of us and then came home for cake and more candles. It was quieter than usual, but we got so much quality time with our girl and that’s really all we wanted on this special day!
Happiest birthday to my big girl! Chocolate milk, Go Fish, and snuggling are a few of your favorite things. You adore all of your siblings, but your older brother is your person and it has been such a joy to watch your friendship grow. At five years old, you are an incredible leader, which makes you a natural at this whole big sister thing. I love the sound of your sweet little voice and the sight of you in your jammies and bedhead in the mornings. I hope to never forget the sight of 5-year-old you! I love you, my sweet girl!
