Our Ivy girl is six whole months old. Half of her first year has been lived and I can hardly believe it. She is such a sweet and happy baby who loves bath time and being held. She may also be our first thumb sucker! She alternates between sucking on two fingers or her thumb and it is definitely the cutest thing ever. It looks like her eyes are going to be brown, just like her big brother! And I can’t wait to see their final hue 🙂
Age: 6 months
Stats: 15 lbs 14oz (45%ile) 25.5 inches (30%ile)
New this month: She said “Mama!” Her first word and our first baby to say mama before dada. Spending more one on one time with dad away from mom, which is super special for everyone involved. Also rolling from tummy to back and loving her bouncer now that her feet can touch the floor.
Sleep: After 12 days of snuggling mom in Europe and having milk on tap anytime she wanted, it turns out sleeping in her own crib wasn’t super appealing. So we’re basically back to the newborn phase when it comes to sleep. But when she’s not jet-lagged, her sleep schedule looks a little something like this:
7:30am – Wake for the day
9:15am-10:00am – Nap #1 (almost always in a crib)
1:00pm-2:15pm – Nap #2 (half in her crib/half on the go)
6:30pm – Down for the night
Food: Not a fan of baby food, but loved croissants in Paris. Can’t really blame her there. I am still breastfeeding and still absolutely loving it. There is nothing sweeter than the quiet time spent feeding a baby and I will undoubtedly be heartbroken when it’s over.
We love our sweet Ivy girl so much. She feels like she’s always been a part of our family. Conrad is constantly calling her ‘sweetest girl’ and coming over to rub her head, hug her, and snuggle her with his eyes closed. Quinn is always asking to hold her and pops Ivy up onto her hip like such a little mama. Ivy smiles so big every time she sees them and thinks the littlest things that they do are hilarious. They are all the sweetest and I can’t wait to watch their friendships develop.
Happiest half birthday, sweetest girl!!
