Twinkling lights, the scent of evergreen, and the warmth of festive cheer are just around the corner! As much as I adore the holiday season, I can’t resist taking a moment to recap our Halloween. Our fall has been filled with movie marathons, pumpkin patches, golden tickets, and the sweet thrill of trick-or-treating with friends.
We’ve had such a fun fall season. I never want to forget waddling through the neighborhood at almost nine months pregnant or the excitement on our kids’ faces when they found one of the golden tickets in our neighbor’s annual golden ticket hunt. The day before Halloween, one of our neighbors hides ten golden tickets all over our neighborhood. They send out clues 4pm and the neighborhood buzzes with eager treasure hunters. Whoever finds the tickets gets an extra special treat on Halloween night at the Willy Wonka house. Our kids were some of the first to find a ticket. The whole experience added an extra layer of excitement to the season!
After school on Halloween, we ran the kids home to change into their costumes, then went to a friend’s house to trick or treat with two sweet families. They hosted us for the most amazing chili dinner before we went out trick or treating. The kids reveled in the thrill of running through the neighborhood with their buddies, while we, the parents, strolled behind, sipping on hot apple cider. We capped off the festivities with way too much candy and one last round of Halloween movie magic.
I am so excited for the magic that another baby will bring to next year’s celebrations! I hope you had the most spooktacular Halloween! xoxo
