Not much longer until this sweet baby joins our family and we can hardly wait! We’ve been busy cleaning out every cabinet and drawer, washing all the tiny baby things, and trying to have as much fun as possible in our last few weeks as a family of five.
How far along: 35 weeks
Due Date: November 26th.
Gender: A boy!
Weight gain: 17 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Loving these pajamas that are non-maternity, but give my growing bump plenty of room. The red ticking stripe would be so perfect for the holidays and they come in a top/bottom set if you’re more of a pajama pants or shorts kind of gal.
Sleep: Some mild middle-of-the-night insomnia and getting up at least once in the night to go to the bathroom. God’s way of prepping us for being up in the night, I’m sure.
Best moment this month: So much good this month! Our babymoon, pumpkin patches, and my sweet friend’s wedding.
Worst moment this month:Â Spending an overnight in the hospital Saturday night into Sunday morning with contractions that were only 2-3 minutes apart. Ryne and I came home from our dear friend’s wedding and started getting ready for bed. I was having some consistent contractions that I thought would dissipate once I laid down, but once I got in bed they actually became more frequent. I was only 34 weeks, 6 days- so this was definitely unexpected! I called my doc who told me we needed to go to the hospital. The contractions continued to get closer together and more intense, but my cervix didn’t dilate. After sleeping a few hours, the contractions subsided to only 6 or 7 minutes apart and they sent me home. Even though we were not ready for him to come and he needed a little longer to bake, we were so disappointed to leave without a baby in our arms!
Miss anything: I miss hosting our friends and family for dinner, or drinks, or an impromptu firepit night. I’ll be especially bummed not to host Thanksgiving this year, but snuggling a newborn while someone else serves me pie will be a close second 😉
Movement: Movement has slowed down a bit, but it’s still consistent and I am loving every single kick. I know I will miss this so much in just a few weeks.
Cravings: Mostly sweets still- scones, festive fall loaves, anything with chocolate chips or chunks. Not sure I can blame that on pregnancy. I need to make these brown butter pumpkin oatmeal cookies ASAP.
Other symptoms: Less heartburn, and more nerve pain.
Looking forward to: Holding this sweet boy! Can’t wait to snuggle him on our couch while we watch all the Hallmark Christmas movies with a festive mug in hand.
Name considerations: Still so stuck on the middle name. Loving a lot of classics- James, Paul, Peter. Also loving Ellis, Linus, and Walter.
