This big girl turned eight this week! Her birthday is always right at the end of the school year. Sometimes it falls on the last week of school and other years it falls on the first day or two of summer. This year it fell on a school day. We gave her the option to stay home for a day of play, but she wanted to go to school.
We opened presents in the morning and celebrated with cake in the evening. Then last night we had family over for a party and today we took the kids to the zoo. So much fun in one week! Our zoo day was unseasonably rainy and cold, but it made for less crowds, which is a win all its own.
