A New Baby!

Surprise!! We are so excited to share that a fourth (and final) Hammons baby is on the way, due in November!

As you may have guessed, this baby came as a bit of a surprise! We had just come home from our spring break trip to 30A and I was feeling a bit off. When my Friday night plans with a friend got canceled, I decided to take a pregnancy test after the kids went to bed. I set the test on the kitchen counter. Ryne, who was cleaning up the kitchen, grabbed it and immediately said it was positive. We were both in total disbelief. I really did not expect to be pregnant. We had a good laugh and cried some happy tears together. It took a few weeks for the news to feel real, but we are so excited to welcome another Hammons baby into our family!

A few short weeks later we found out that this baby is a BOY! We would have been overjoyed either way, but I suspected I might be growing a boy because I’ve been craving all the protein- sub sandwiches, avocado bagels with a fried egg on top, and sushi! And, similarly to when I was pregnant with Conrad, I was not very tired in my first trimester. Which has been SUCH a blessing! In my pregnancies with my girls, I couldn’t keep my eyes open past lunchtime. And unfortunately, coffee has sounded repulsive (again). At 16 weeks pregnant, I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever drink coffee again.

All of the kids are over the moon excited to have a baby brother. The girls just can’t wait to hold him and Conrad is hoping the baby can live in his room. Ryne and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to watch one more little love take first steps, say first words, and all the fun things that come with growing up! Cheers to a very full house and more love than our hearts can handle! Bring on all of the newborn Christmas clothes! (And when did my hair get so gray?!)
