Ryne and I took Ivy with us on a quick work trip to Maui last week. Having some one on one time with our baby was oh so special. It wasn’t exactly alone time, but it was a nice break from the challenges of day to day life. We took Quinny to Maui many times by herself before we had Conrad, so this had us reminiscing on what life was like with one kid 😉 Without all three kids in tow, we strolled much more effortlessly and went about our day at our own pace. Every morning, we walked to breakfast and enjoyed the ocean breeze & soft light with a cup of coffee. It’s clear we are much more relaxed with our third baby than we were with our first. Ivy had a massive blowout one morning right as we sat down to breakfast. We didn’t bring a diaper bag, let alone a change of clothes, so I made her a little outfit using my nursing wrap.
Just like her siblings at this age, Ivy loved the water. We were so fortunate to have the use of the cabanas while we were there, which kept us all shaded and comfortable. We sat on the beach while Ivy ate sand and then took her down the slides. And then, right on cue, all hell broke loose every night at dinnertime. All play and no sleep makes for a cranky baby. But having these seaside memories with each of our babies really is so special and I love having all these sweet photos to look back on.
