It has been a while since I’ve done a Quinn update. She is growing so fast these days! At almost 3 years old she is curious, wild, and sweeter than sugar! She loves helping us with even the smallest of tasks and reminds us regularly that toddlers really are the best eavesdroppers.
Milestones: Quinn recently moved from her crib to a big girl bed. Ryne and I had been dreading this transition, because we love sleep and we were all sleeping great at night with Quinn in her crib. We were super surprised by how easily Q made the transfer. It helps that she is in love with the freedom that has come with her big girl bed. As soon as her eyes open in the morning she comes running into our bedroom. Our kid doesn’t always wake up early, but when she does it’s on Saturday. Lately she’s been climbing in bed next to me and waking me by yelling, “TICKLE, TICKLE!” while jabbing her little hands into my sides.
Favorite activities: She loves to build block towers, dress herself (usually in a tutu and “dancing shoes”), and cook in her new play kitchen. Her specialty is alphabet soup, which she makes by throwing all of the letters from her alphabet puzzle into a pot with a lid. Outside is her happy place and unfavorable weather doesn’t phase her in the slightest. She sings in the car, the shower, and in her bed. From being sick to sharing toys, she knows a song for every occasion (thanks, Daniel Tiger!).
Favorite foods: Our girl loves vegetables. She’s like a unicorn of children. I wish she’d teach her daddy her ways 😉 She loves tomatoes, avocados, asparagus and salad. All of the sudden, she’s decided she’s not a fan of blueberries and she still doesn’t like cake or ice cream. She begs us to let her drink from cups without a lid and promises she won’t spill. She lies.
Favorite movies: Frozen, Tangled, and Polar Express (we just can’t quit you, Christmas movies).
Silly things Quinn says: She recently told our dog Gatsby to “quit farting around!” Every time she has a mischievous thought she says “I have an ideeaaaa,” which is always followed by a giggle (or an evil laugh) and usually involves doing something dangerous or eating chocolate before dinner. And let’s be real- how can I tell her ‘no’ when mommy does the same thing?
