First of all, I just want to say THANK YOU so much for all of your prayers and support regarding my mom! If you follow me on Instagram, then you know the last week has been an exceptionally difficult one for our family. My mom had a life-threatening event last week and she is still in the fight of her life. My littlest sister, London, has moved in with us for the time being. We absolutely LOVE having her. Of course we wish it was under different circumstances. We’ve been wading through the waters of grief and limbo, but God continues to supply beauty and light even in the darkness 💛
This week I’ve been feeling so grateful for all the sweetness of October in Colorado. Changing leaves, cooler air, and gentle snow storms have all been buoys to the heart during our family crisis. In between hanging out in the ICU waiting room, we managed to find some time to take the babies to one of our absolute favorite local pumpkin patches. It’s literally in a church parking lot (but there’s magic even in the simplicity of it) and it’s a must-stop for us every year. Each of the kids got to pick out their own punkie to take home and put on their nightstand.
And this right here is the magic. Loading all our babes into the car. Watching them light up over the perfect pumpkin. That is the really. good. stuff. Events like the one we’ve been through this last week have a way of putting life into perspective. What’s important and what isn’t worth wasting heartbeats on. And if nothing else, I intend to spend a little more time recognizing the difference between the two.
Plans for the weekend include snuggling on the couch for a Hocus Pocus family movie night tomorrow, followed by pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating on Saturday, eating plenty of Halloween candy, and soaking up as much joy as humanly possible.
