First, I want to say a sincere thank you to everyone for their kind words and excitement for us over baby boy Hammons. It’s such a relief to have our secret out in the open and to be able to share our excitement publicly.
In my pregnancy with Quinn, I made weekly chalkboards to document the 39 weeks she spent on the inside. This time I’m excited to continue the chalkboard tradition and to be able to blog along side. So here we go- Baby Hammons chalkboards round 2!
How far along: 14 weeks
Gender: It’s a boy! 🙂
Weight gain: I’ve gained 4lbs so far. After all the s’mores we ate while camping this weekend, I’m surprised it isn’t 14lbs.
Maternity clothes:Â Yeah, since like week 6. I picked up a few flowy tops from Anthro last week and I’ve been living in my Gap Supersoft Maternity Leggings since my last pregnancy (because they are amazingly comfortable even when you aren’t pregnant).
Stretch marks: If this pregnancy is anything like my pregnancy with Quinn, they’ll start to pop up right around week 36.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Still getting up to pee in the night. Hoping that changes as my uterus moves up over the next week or two. But otherwise, I’m sleeping great!
Best moment this week: Hearing baby boy’s heart beat at my doctor’s appointment.
Worst moment this week: Nightmares. Pregnancy dreams are the worst! They are so vivid and terrifying.
Miss anything: Oh, other than wine? I miss fitting into my jeans. I tried to do the hair-tie trick last week and just ended up walking around with my pants entirely unzipped all day. Also missing energy.
Movement: Not yet! I couldn’t tell I was feeling Quinn move until about 18 weeks when her movements could be felt from the outside too. I’ve heard that with a second baby some women feel movement earlier, so I’m hoping soon!
Cravings:Â My appetite just started coming back a couple weeks ago. I’ve been craving everything salty! Soup, salad, and deli sandwiches are my favorites right now. I know deli meat is totally against the rules, but my OB assured me that it’s ok as long as I toast my sandwich.
Queasy or sick:Â I have had a little nausea/car sick feeling throughout the first trimester, but it has finally gone away. There were a handful of nights that I was hit with intense nausea while sleeping. One night while we were in Maui back in July, I woke up from a dead sleep and had to stand on the balcony for an hour panting through the nausea. So random!
Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound on the 7th of September & hopefully feeling a little movement soon! 🙂
