Thanksgiving week is my fav week of the year. There is so much anticipation of the joy ahead and I love having a long weekend to spend with Ryne and Quinn to kick off the season! Plus pumpkin pie tastes so good with my morning coffee.
Thanksgiving day, Quinn woke Ryne and I up by yelling down the hall from her bed “Mom! Dad! It’s Thanksgiving Day!” I love seeing the joy through her eyes 🙂 We moseyed downstairs in our holiday pj’s and made breakfast while the parade played in the background. Traditionally, we buy butter braids from whatever school/scout group is selling them and make them on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but thought it’d be fun to make our own this year. We took aspects of the recipe from several different places and it turned out so well!
We threw the pie in the oven to bake before jumping in the shower. It was done just in time for us to load up the car and head to my dad’s house. My dad helped us prep the turkey and then we hung out and took turns building towers with Quinn throughout the afternoon while the turkey baked. Extended family joined us for dinner, dessert, and games. We ended the night with full tummies and the fullest hearts!
I hope you all had a magical and relaxing Thanksgiving with your loves! I am so excited to share a few fun things we have planned for the season. And of course, we are so excited to kick off the Christmas season!
