We are officially in the THIRD trimester & oh so excited to meet the newest member of our family in 11 weeks or less 🙂 We talked to my OB this week about possible induction dates and now we are just waiting for the office manager to call and get us on the schedule!
How far along: 28 weeks
Size of Baby Hammons: Our little man is nearly 15″ and a little over two pounds this week, according to my pregnancy app. He can dream, blink, & hiccup and would have a 95% chance of survival if he was born this week.
Weight gain: Still hovering at 14 lbs. My OB isn’t concerned that I haven’t gained any weight since my last appointment. Baby is very active, so I’m not going to worry either.
Maternity clothes: I finally found some affordable maternity jeans that I love and I’ve been spending a lot of time in oversized Christmas sweatshirts (like this one I bought in a men’s medium).
Stretch marks: No new ones… yet.
Belly button in or out: Half in, half out.
Sleep: Still sleeping well! Trying to soak it in before I have to get up to pee every twenty minutes.
Best moment this week: Yesterday was pretty wonderful. It started snowing mid-morning and continued to snow throughout the day. Ryne and I went for a check-up with the OB while Quinn was at school. We picked her up and went to Chik-fil-a for lunch. In the afternoon, we watched Christmas movies and got a few things organized. We didn’t do anything special. It was just a simple, quiet day and it was perfect.
Worst moment this week: Holy heartburn! I remember that it got pretty intense in my pregnancy with Quinn toward the end, but until last night I had been fortunate enough not to have any.
Miss anything: Drinking with our friends during the holiday season. Every year we get together for a few drinks and card games. It’s one of my favorite events of the season. It will be a sober round of Cards Against Humanity for me this year.
Movement: Our little guy is a mover and a shaker, especially right when I roll over and close my eyes at the end of the night. I swear it feels like he’s trying to escape. Quinn has gotten to feel him a lot more lately, which she is so excited about. Oh, and hiccups! So many hiccups. It’s adorable.
Cravings: Hot chocolate with lots of those tiny marshmallows. And a date night, if that counts. Some sweet potato fries and a movie would make me one happy pregnant lady 🙂
Queasy or sick: We have all managed to avoid catching colds for the last several weeks and it has been glorious. Unfortunately, I’ve been starting to feel a little nauseous after eating lately. Switching to 6 small meals a day seems to have helped.
Looking forward to: Our trip to Hotel Del Coronado next week! It’s such a beautiful, historic hotel. Every year they deck it out with a massive tree and tons of Christmas decorations. It’s become a tradition for us to take Quinn this time of year and it’s guaranteed to put me in the holiday mood 🙂
