Baby month is officially here and we are so ready to hold our boy in our arms! But in the mean time, there’s nothing quite like having a big baby belly & I am absolutely savoring these last couple of weeks with him on the inside.
How far along: 37 weeks
Size of Baby Hammons: A watermelon! We got a sneak peek at him this morning during our final ultrasound. Baby is measuring 6lbs 2oz, which is about the 20th percentile. We are so pleased with these numbers after our last ultrasound where he was measuring around the 13th percentile.
Weight gain: 18.5 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Oh yeah!
Stretch marks: A new one popped up last week. After worrying about my weight gain and baby’s small size, I can really appreciate this little stretch mark and the meaning it holds. On a side note- all of my stretch marks are on the right side of my belly. Both Quinn and baby brother loved to stick their butts out on my right side, so maybe that’s why?
Belly button in or out: Out
Sleep: God is preparing me for middle of the night awakenings with this little one. I get up at least a couple of times each night to go to the bathroom and sometimes it takes me HOURS to fall back asleep.
Best moment this week: My mom, aunt, and a few other lovely family friends threw Ryne and I the sweetest little party to celebrate this baby. It was so special and just added to the excitement of his impending arrival.
Worst moment this week: Switching blood thinners and increasing my daily injections from one per day to two. For good reason though. Heparin has a shorter half-life than enoxaparin, which ensures that I’ll be able to have an epidural if I go into labor unexpectedly. And mama wants that epidural!
Miss anything: Being able to get comfortable and breathe. Things are going downhill fast in the energy and comfort department.
Movement: Lots of shifting around. Baby has definitely dropped and he never fails to punch me in the cervix.
Cravings: Oatmeal, milk, and all things sweet.
Labor signs: I was 1.5cm dilated and 75% effaced at my OB appointment this morning! Other than that, no contractions or other ominous signs of labor.
Looking forward to: Meeting this sweet boy, of course! Can’t believe it’s almost time!
