We are so excited to announce the arrival of our son, Conrad Edison. He was born on February 17th at 3:11am, weighing in at 6lbs 9oz and stretching 19 & 3/4 inches long. He was born with a head full of thick, dark hair. He is quiet and incredibly sweet and loves to be held. He is a dream! It’s an amazing feeling bringing another baby into the world. You wonder how you’ll ever be able to love another baby the way you love your first child, but then you do and it is magic!
All of our parents already think Conrad looks like his sister. He is breastfeeding and filling his diapers like a champ! Quinn adores him and has been such a gentle and patient big sister. She wants to hold him literally all the time and is seriously not interested in sharing.
As for my labor- it was SO EASY in comparison to my labor with Quinn. I’ll share a little more in a later post, but I never made it to my induction. I ended up going into labor on my own the night before my induction and Conrad was out in just a few pushes. I didn’t need an episiotomy, but I did tear a little bit, which has made recovery rough. Thank goodness for spray bottles and the donut pillow! I am so grateful to my mom, who has taken Quinn and our dogs for the last few days to allow Ryne and I to get our feet underneath us. It’s been so nice to be able to sleep without a toddler waking us up for all the things.
So far, baby boy has been a great sleeper! He wakes up every few hours to eat, but goes right back to sleep. Honestly, I don’t even mind the mid-night feedings. I know it will be short-lived and I find that time with my babies to be so peaceful. We are absolutely in love with this sweet boy of ours. He is the perfect addition to our family and I can’t wait to watch him experience all the magic of life.
