Alternatively titled “The Things We Lost”. We took the kids to Seattle over the weekend in hopes of catching a little fall weather, riding a ferry, and getting our fill of some good coffee. As soon as we got in the cab and pulled away from the airport curb we realized we had lost Quinn’s favorite stuffed animal, a bunny named Sharon. Fortunately, Sharon is mass produced at Nordstrom so we dropped our bags at the hotel, grabbed a coffee, and made a beeline for the Nordstrom kids department. Once all was well with Quinn’s world again we made our way down to Pike’s Place Market for some apple cider.
The next day we walked over to the Chihuly museum and, somewhere along the way, Bubs lost a sock (we resigned ourselves to this loss). The next morning we were headed out for the ferry when we realized our camera was missing. The last place we could recall having it was on a bench just inside of the museum where I had stopped to feed Conrad. After a few phone calls and a 2 mile walk (with a stop for donuts on the way) we made our way back to Chihuly to pick-up our Nikon that some gracious soul had turned in. As we walked back towards the hotel, we found the Bub sock we had lost the day before just sitting on the sidewalk! It was dirty and had probably been used to wipe something on a questionable person. With that in mind, I did what any reasonable person would do, I picked it up and threw it in the bottom of the stroller. We did ride a ferry and caught a little fall breeze. I think Ryne and I both could have used a few more cups of coffee because, well… kids.
