Rolling into the third trimester and ready to meet this sweet girl in 11-ish weeks! We are moving Conrad over to his big boy room at the end of the week and are oh so excited to start nesting baby girl’s space. Also on our to-do list this week is hiring a birth photographer, ordering a rug & art for baby’s room, and finding a babysitter for our annual Mexican food Valentine’s Day date. What it lacks in tequila, we will make up for in queso and sopapillas 😉
How far along: 28 weeks
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 14 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Living in as much athleisure as I can get away with and layering maternity clothes with the coziest cardigans.
Stretch marks: No new ones
Belly button in or out: Out!
Sleep: Things are going downhill in the sleep department. Most nights my bladder (or Quinn) wakes me up around 3 or 4am and then it takes me an hour to go back to sleep and God forbid I should need to roll over it will take me just as long.
Best moment this month: Baby-mooning in Maui last week! I read a book cover to cover, sipped on strawberry banana smoothies under the shade of a cabana, and got lots of quality time with my love. I’m so grateful for the time Ryne and I made for each other this last year. It will be over a year before we are able to vacation just the two of us again, so we really soaked up this week together!
Worst moment this month: Coming home from said babymooon to two kids with lice. Oh yeah- you read that correctly. EFFING LICE! There was an outbreak in Quinn’s classroom and apparently her teachers didn’t realize the kids shouldn’t share headphones. So much grace. But I did have a small internal freak out when I realized Quinn had them. We treated both kids right away and let them eat ice cream while Ryne and I ran all the laundry. We’re ready for another vacation.
Cravings: Everything sweet! Milk & cookies. Anything cinnamon sugar. And smoothies.
Miss anything: Moving with more speed. It’s slow going for this mama these days.
Movement: Tons of hiccups!
Queasy or sick: I’ve been healthy since New Years and I’m praying to the good Lord above that I stay that way until this sweet girl arrives.
Looking forward to: Nesting! Baby girl’s closet is full of Quinn’s baby clothes and slowly filling with a few items of her own.
Labor signs: Braxton hicks contractions are starting to make a regular appearance.
