I can hardly believe we are rounding out the first week in July. The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and every year that becomes more true as Quinn is able to join in on the festivities. In preparation for the holiday, Ryne spent a little time getting our American flag up on Monday while Quinn and I played and relaxed on the driveway. We’ve lived in our house for two years without a flag flying on the fourth, which had to change. We spent most of the 4th at my dad’s house celebrating with barbecue and the most perfect weather. We played lawn games and lit sparklers waiting for nightfall and the big firework show. Q had a ton of fun writing her name in the air with the sparks (and almost lighting her clothes on fire). When darkness finally came, we curled up on my dad’s deck with a fantastic view of our town’s firework display. We all crawled into bed way too late, but it was worth every minute of joy on our little girl’s face.
