How far along: 22 weeks
Gender: A little man
Weight gain: 12 lbs. We’re going to pretend those two new pounds are baby growth and not the half pint of Ben & Jerry’s I’ve been polishing off.
Maternity clothes: My belly definitely feels bigger this week. MUCH bigger. I’m embracing it by living in my comfy maternity clothes. Oh, and I made the switch to these soft bras with no padding (and bought a size that actually fits). They are not “maternity”, but sweet Jesus- what a relief! Should have done it months ago.
Stretch marks: No new ones
Belly button in or out: In, but that thing is getting very shallow.
Sleep: Not so good. Besides the fact that I have been battling a cold and I can’t breathe through my nose at night, I’m suddenly wide awake for 2 hours in the middle of each night. I only remember this happening in my pregnancy with Quinn one time- I couldn’t sleep so I went downstairs and ate a yogurt. But this has been going on for the last two-ish weeks. I’m hoping it’s a phase. So strange!
Best moment this week: Date night with my hunky husband. We had planned to go out just the two of us, but Quinn insisted she come on the “date with daddy”. We stuffed our faces with three courses and then as we were leaving Quinn asked, “when are we going on the date?”
Worst moment this week: Definitely this cold. I expected to get sick more often with Quinn being in school, but good grief! The three of us are constantly rotating these things. I’m on day 10 of this cold and I think I’m in it for the long haul.
Miss anything: Sleep. My health. And seasonal adult beverages. Really looking forward to walking next year’s pumpkin patch with a hard cider in hand.
Movement: Tons! Quinn has gotten to feel a few kicks, although I’m not sure she understands what she’s feeling because she keeps putting my hand on her stomach and asking “did you feel it?”.
Cravings: Guacamole, clementine oranges, huckleberry jam, and naps. And I’m obsessed with the Food Network this time of year, so I pretty much crave everything they make. Ryne, could you please whip me up a turducken? The baby wants it 😉
Queasy or sick: Just with this cold.
Looking forward to: Halloween! Hocus Pocus on the tv. Stew stewing on the stove. Passing out a ton of candy and eating just as much (if not more). Walking our girl up the street in her Rapunzel costume to knock on our neighbor’s doors so she can stand there silently while I say, say ‘trick or treat’! I can hardly contain my excitement.
